SC Global

Giving Back

SC Global is committed to giving back to the local community and inspiring the next generation of Singaporeans to excel through design scholarships, art projects/competitions and community sports programmes. The "SC Global Tennis For Every Child" community programme was introduced in 2014 as part of the Group's sponsorship of the WTA Finals, with the aim of increasing participation in tennis and building a lasting legacy for the sport. The programme aims to increase participation in local primary schools by providing them with free equipment, after school programmes, teacher training and mentorship to develop tennis programmes. The programme has already been successfully introduced into 24 primary schools, bringing the joys of tennis to over 12,500 students.

The SC Global Tennis For Every Child programme has broadened its horizons beyond primary schools to provide free weekly tennis lessons to youth communities lacking in opportunity, accessibility and resources for sports. In 2015, TFEC lessons began at special education school MINDS Towner Gardens and Melrose Children's Home, with plans to expand the programme to MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School in 2016. SC Global employees are actively involved in the outreach programme, wholeheartedly giving their time to the management, development, fund-raising and marketing of the TFEC programme. As part of the company's CSR programme, SC Global staff are encouraged to volunteer as coaching assistants in the weekly classes and at the programme carnivals, an initiative that has proved very successful with the programme with many volunteers asking to sign up on a regular basis.
