The BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global has been an unprecedented success since the inaugural event in 2014, attracting 130,000 fans from 51 countries and generating a TV and online audience of 32.5million viewers over 164 markets. Often referred to as the fifth grand slam, the 10-day sports and entertainment spectacle includes 8 days of competition with the top 8 singles and doubles players in the world, Tournament Gala Concert, WTA Rising Stars Invitational, WTA Future Stars Tournament, WTA Legends Classic, Tennis Coaching Conference, Fanzone Carnival and community activities in the lead up to the event. The event won Best Sporting Event (International) at the Singapore Sports Awards in both 2015 and 2016.

As a home grown Singapore company with an international platform, the Group is committed to being an active and community minded sponsor. As part of the Group’s activation programme the “SC Global’s Tennis For Every Child” programme was introduced in 2014 with the aim of increasing participation in local primary schools in Singapore through both the PE curriculum and afterschool enrichment programmes. Promoting tennis for every child through a professional school programme is just one of the many ways that the Group works together with WTA to ensure that the Finals has a positive impact on Singaporeans and leaves a lasting legacy on the sport in Singapore. The programme has already been successfully introduced into 23 primary schools, bringing the joys of tennis to an additional 12,500 students. Now in its third year the TFEC programme continues to recruit new schools and has broadened its horizons beyond primary schools to provide free weekly tennis lessons to youth communities lacking in opportunity, accessibility and resources for sports. In 2015, TFEC lessons began at special education school MINDS Towner Gardens expand to MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School in 2016. SC Global employees are actively involved in the outreach programme, wholeheartedly giving their time to the management, development, fund-raising and marketing of the TFEC programme. As part of the company’s CSR programme, SC Global staff are encouraged to volunteer as coaching assistants in the weekly classes and at the programme carnivals, an initiative that has proved very successful with many volunteers asking to sign up on a regular basis.
